Open Format Mixer I am VJ Escote (aka DJ ENO) and I’ve been a DJ for 18 years. I’d describe myself as loyal, adventurous, genuine, versatile and extroverted. When I’m not DJing I love cooking, trying out new restaurants/cuisines, going to theme parks with my wife, and going off-roading and overlanding in our Jeep. You could say music is in my blood. Growing up, my parents were part of a band (New Horizon) that I got to participate in as I got older. I picked up DJing as a hobby in 2004 when fate and chance intervened one evening at a nightclub. Their DJ didn’t show up and I had my equipment in my car so I offered to help. The rest is history! I love how music can change your mood from bad to good, transport you back to a time and remind you of a great moment in your life, and help heal you during tough times. My favorite quote is from Bob Marley – “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” It embodies exactly what music is to me. Growing up in the melting pot of California exposed me to so many different cultures, styles of music, and amazing DJs. This upbringing molded me into the unique DJ I am today, mixing in and out of different genres as an open format DJ. My favorite types of events are when everyone is dancing and singing their hearts out. I always read my crowd to see what everyone is enjoying to help build up the night. It’s a bonus if I can surprise people with a song they haven’t heard in a while and make them say “This is my Jam!”. Djing has taken me to so many locations including nightclubs in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Miami, New York, New Jersey, Buffalo, Hawaii, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City and my home country – The Philippines! Some great moments in my career were opening for DJ AM, DJ VICE, DJ Z-TRIPP, Outside Lands and EDC for RedBull. I’ve also Dj’d many celebrity parties including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Justin Timberlake, Channing Tatum, P Diddy, Mase, Snoop Dogg and more. I’m excited to have recently joined the Florida DJ scene working with Mix on Wheels and Miles DJ Productions to make even more amazing memories through the power of music!
